¾ yard white batiste

1 ¼ yard  cotton French insertion lace

2 ½  yards cotton French edging lace

Embroidery design (sample from Celebrate Spring)

Tear-away stabilizer

Size 100 top stitching needle

Size 80 seewing needle

White sewing thread

Small scissors
1.
Cut the fabric into 4 pieces: 1 piece 13 x 13 inches for the back, 2 pieces 4 inches by 44 inches for the ruffle and 1 piece 15 x 15 for the front.
2.
On the front piece, mark the exact center.
3.
Draw a line 10 inches from the center point on all 4 sides. These will be for placement of the lace.
4.
Embroider the design onto the front piece making sure it is centered.
5.
Lay the lace on one side of the pillow front straddling the line and pin it into place.

When you get to the corner, place a pin in the corner at the bottom of the lace and another at the top at a 45 degree angle as shown
7.
Next, fold the lace back over itself keeping it parallel as shown here.
8.
Remove the pin at the bottom of the corner and re-pin it as shown.
