8.
Using white thread, sew a sew 1/32 away from the seam line and then again 1/32 away from the first row of stitches.
9.
Sew three button onto the colored band at 5 inches, 10 inches and 15 inches.
10.
Fold and stitch a ¼ inch hem on the 21 inch side of the 11 x 21 inch piece.
11.
Fold over another  1¾ inches.
12.
Sew Velcro onto the right side of this piece. Match up and stick the Velcro together before you do the next step. This is the pillow front.
13.
Note: as an alternative, you can sew buttonholes for the buttons on the colored piece and sew the buttons onto the white piece. The Velcro is used to keep the band straighter.
14.
Finger press or press under ¼ inch of fabric on all four sides of the 38½ x 32½ inch piece of printed fabric for the hem.
15.
Finger press or press the four edges up ¼ inch and then 3 inchs on each side.
16.
Match the fold lines, right sides together.
17.
Draw a diagonal line at a 45 degree angle from the folds to the edges to create a miter line.
18.
Sew diagonally  on the drawn line to create a mitered corner on corner side of the fabric.
19.
Trim the extra fabric from the corners and turn the piece right side out. Press the piece if needed.
20.
Place the white linen into the center of the piece you created in steps 14-19 and pin in place.
21.
Using a tiny zigzag stitch (L=2.0, W=2.0) sew the colored fabric to the linen fabric.
22.
Change to the size 120 top stitching needle and sew a pin stitch (L=3.0, W=3.0) around the edge where the white linen and colored fabric meet. The straight part of the stitch should go along the edge in the white linen and the “teeth” should go into the colored fabric.
23.
Press the piece and stuff it with a 26 x 20 inch pillow.
