4.
Trim the seam line to ¼ inch clipping as needed.
5.
Turn the piece right side out.
6.
Using colored thread and stabilizer, create a pattern of decorative stitches on the black linen. Follow the contours of the template you drew. Leave space at the neckline for the satin stitching. (see photo)
7.
Along the neckline, turn the fabric towards the inside, clipping as needed and stitch down with a straight stitch to hold everything in place.
8.
Sew a satin stitch along the neckline to cover the raw edges using your straight stitch as a guide. Use stabilizer under the linen.
9.
Position the linen onto the tee shirt.
10.
Turn the raw edges under at the shoulders. You may need to cut off excess fabric.
11.
Zigzag around the outside edge of the black fabric with a tiny zigzag (L=2.0,W=2.0) and black thread.
12.
Cut away the  excess fabric on the tee shirt front.
13.
At the shoulders, leave a little excess ribbing and turn it under the linen fabric.
14.
Zigzag the fabric in place at the shoulders.
15.
Measure the width of the sleeves plus overlap and cut two pieces this length by 1½ inches wide.
16.
Press under ½ inch long side of these pieces creating a band.
17.
Sew a decorative stitch onto the center of the band using colored thread and stabilizer.
18.
With the same tiny zigzag stitch, sew the bands onto the tee shirt about ½ inch above the hemline.
