Puffing Heirloom Quilt Square

Although the instructions are for a quilt square, you could also create a blouse top using this technique. Just make it as a rectangle slightly larger than the length and width of your pattern. Once you have created the rectangle, lay your pattern on top and cut out the front piece. Don’t add the borders. Cut the pattern one side at a time in one layer rather than trying to fold the piece.
Supplies

Two pieces of 5 x 12 inch white batiste
·
Swiss batiste, color of your choice, 3 x 24 inches
·
Colored batiste cut into four strips 2 at 2 x 11 and two at 2 x 14 inches
·
2/3 yard ½ inch colored insertion lace cut in half
·
2/3 yards white entredeux
·
White sewing thread
·
Rayon thread in colors to match
·
Size 75 universal needle
·
Size 100 top stitching needle
·
Wash-away fabric marker
·
Two 1 x 11 inch pieces of paper wash-away stabilizer
