the leaf outlines by about 1 mm. This is for stability. Later the satin stitches around the entire piece will cover these and help hold them in place.

Cut off the ends of the gimp cord.
10.
Set your sewing machine up for a satin stitch (L=0.6 W=3.0).

Satin stitch over the outside of the leaves.
12.
Set your sewing machine for a scallop stitch.
13.
Sew a scallop across the bottom of the towel using the tear-away stabilizer.
14.
Cut close to the scallop edge at the bottom of the towel.

Optional:
Sew a piece of the cording along the edge of the scallop to finish it off. This is done by laying the gimp cording along the edge (use stabilizer) and sew a satin stitch (L=0.8, W=2.0).
