Supplies
White tee shirt
2/3 yard 1½ inch rayon edging lace
2/3 yard 1 inch rayon insertion lace
Rayon lace appliqué
Tear-away paper stabilizer
2,5 / 80 twin needle
Size 80 needle
White sewing thread
Fabric Marker
Small scissors
1.
Thread your sewing machine with the twin needle following the manufacturer’s instructions.
2.
Fold the tee shirt in half to find the front center point.
3.
Using the fabric marker, draw  two straight lines down the tee shirt 2½ inches from the center front.
4.
Sew a straight stitch down the marked lines with the twin needle. This creates a “pin tuck.”
5.
Sew two more pin tucks to the outside of the tucks you just made using the first tuck as a guide.
6.
Sew the lace applique onto the center of the shirt front between the pin tucks. Use a tiny zigzag stitch (L-2.0, W=2.0).
7.
Carefully cut the tee shirt fabric from behind the applique.
8.
Sew a basting stitch at the top of the edging lace.
9.
Pull the bobbin thread of the basting stitch and ease the lace around the neck to make the lace lie flat. Caution: If you do not add enough ease, the lace will curl upward.
10.
Pin the lace around the neckline and cut off any extra leaving ¼ inch overlap in the back.
11.
Cut off any extra lace.
12.
Sew the lace around the neckline using a small zigzag stitch. This will hide the start of the pin tucks.
13.
Cut the insertion lace into two pieces.
14.
Pin each piece around the sleeve, starting at the underarm seam just above the hemline seam..
15.
Using a tiny zigzag stitch (L-2.0,W-2.0), attach the lace to each sleeve.
16.
Carefully cut away the tee shirt fabric away from the back of the lace.
